Wishing you a blessed Palm Sunday
As we approach Spring, we also enter into the season of some of the most meaningful holidays in the Christian faith. This year Palm Sunday will be celebrated on March 28.
Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem for Passover, where he was greeted by large crowds of people laying palm branches at his feet and shouting words of praise. They were welcoming Jesus as their king. Palm Sunday signifies the beginning of Holy Week and is always the Sunday before Easter.
In modern times, many churches still integrate palms in the Palm Sunday service. Some churches even bless the palms, and many believers tie them into the shape of a cross. The blessed palms are gathered after the service and incinerated to create the ashes for the following year’s Ash Wednesday observance.
Communion is also part of the Palm Sunday service. For this year’s celebration, many people are still worshipping remotely. Whether you are attending church in person or remotely, Blessed Communion offers the assurance of a safe way to receive Communion.
We thank you for allowing us to be part of your Communion preparation and wish you a blessed Palm Sunday celebration.
