He is not here: He has risen
Resurrection Sunday is one of the most significant celebrations in the Christian faith. This year the celebration falls on April 4th. It is a festive holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Remembering the resurrection of Jesus is a way to renew daily hope that we have victory over sin. It means there is hope! While all will die, not all will experience the second death. This is because of Jesus and his atoning death for all who have trusted their lives to him. Jesus was raised from the dead to be the “first fruits” of the faithful.
In the Eucharist, we receive Christ; but Christ also receives us! He receives us in our entirety, bringing us fully into the new life of grace, life in the Spirit. When we receive Christ in the Eucharist, we are fulfilling the deepest desires of love itself.
We wish you a Happy Easter and hope that you are able to gather with your loved ones to celebrate Holy Communion in remembrance of Him. For He is not here; He has risen.
